PREVENTION
DEPARTMENT
The goal of the
prevention department at Southern New Mexico Human Development
Inc., is to provide a variety of school-based and community
based substance abuse prevention programs that are community
driven, research based and culturally relevant to youth.
PREVENTION TEAM
The prevention team of Southern New
Mexico Human Development Inc. consists of a group of trained
individuals that focus on prevention specialties, quality
assurance and regional providers/via coalitions. SNMHD
prevention team is one of the largest teams in the state and is
funded at the federal, state and local levels and provides
prevention services at the following levels: Information Dissemination, Education, Alternative Programs, Community Based (activities that include community
stake holders to give input to prevention
services) and Environmental (activities that include
policies, norms & attitudes regarding Alcohol, Tobacco
and Other Drugs (ATOD).
